Hybrid printing in Tirupur combines a special-effect screen channel with unlimited-colour digital artwork in a single production pass. The result: print effects that no screen press and no digital machine can achieve independently — on cut panels and placement prints, at production scale.
What It Is
One pass. Two technologies. Print effects that don't exist any other way.
Conventional screen printing applies flat, opaque colour in a sequence of separate passes — one per colour, using one screen per colour. The process is locked in. You can add a special effect (puff, foil, discharge) but only as a separate screen in the sequence, which adds cost, increases registration risk, and limits design complexity.
Digital printing offers unlimited colours and photographic resolution, but by itself cannot deposit thick, three-dimensional, or metallic effects — the print heads were not designed for those inks.
Hybrid printing solves both limitations. A rotary or flat screen lays down one speciality channel — discharge, foil, puff, silicon, glitter, or shimmer — and a precision digital print head immediately follows, depositing the full-colour artwork in perfect registration. The two elements are fused in a single production pass: no double handling, no separate curing stages, no registration failures between them.
The design capabilities this creates are significant: a photographic digital print on a discharge ground that would be impossible to screen-print; a foil highlight sitting inside a full-bleed photographic image; a puff outline surrounding digital artwork with infinite colour variation inside it. These combinations are not achievable by any other production process.

Speciality Screen Effects
Eight effects available in-house.
Each effect is applied as the screen channel of the hybrid pass. Select one per design run; the digital element beneath or around it is unlimited in colour and complexity.
Discharge
Bleaches dye from the base fabric to create a soft, breathable white or pastel channel beneath the digital artwork — ideal for dark-ground tees.
High-Density (HD)
A thick, raised ink deposit that creates a 3D relief effect. Feels and looks raised to the touch. Perfect for logos and bold graphic elements.
Puff
Heat-activated ink swells on curing to create a soft, three-dimensional surface. Widely used in premium kidswear and designer tees.
Silicon
Silicon channels add a premium soft-rubber hand-feel and subtle sheen. Durable through washing. Popular in sportswear and athleisure.
Foil
Metallic foil is laminated to a screen-printed adhesive channel, creating a mirror-finish highlight that is impossible by digital printing alone.
Glitter
Fine glitter particles bonded into a screen channel for a sparkle effect. Combined with digital photographic areas for maximum contrast.
Shimmer
Pearl and iridescent shimmer screen channels that shift colour with viewing angle — used to add dimension to digital motifs.
Waterbase
Standard water-based screen channel for vibrant, flat colour foundations beneath a digital element. Soft hand-feel, GOTS-approved chemistry.

Because the digital element has no colour limit and no repeat constraint, hybrid printing is particularly suited to collections that change design frequently — capsule drops, licensed graphics, illustrated prints for childrenswear — where screen-only printing would require new screens for every design change.
