Macrofast prints a range of knit and woven fabrics using digital pigment, reactive AOP and hybrid placement processes. Fibre content, construction and end use all matter: confirm the specific material and process together before committing to a run.

Cotton across knit and woven constructions
Cotton is used in both roll-to-roll AOP and garment or cut-panel printing. Pigment is a broad option for cotton knits and wovens; reactive printing is an alternative for cellulosic cotton when deeper fibre penetration is desired and the batch suits the process.
Organic status and certification claims depend on the input material and the applicable supply-chain documentation, not fibre name alone. Share the fabric documents if certified organic output is required.

Linen, viscose and modal: cellulosic options
Linen, viscose and modal are cellulosic fibres that may be considered for reactive AOP as well as pigment printing. Their construction and surface character can affect colour and print appearance, so the exact quality should be sampled rather than assuming every linen or regenerated-cellulose fabric behaves the same.
Reactive printing uses a steaming and wash-off stage and is intended for cellulose-based fabrics. It is not the default for polyester or other non-cellulosic fibres; where fibre content is mixed, confirm suitability with the team.

Blends and stretch fabrics need a material check
Pigment printing has wider fibre compatibility and may suit polyester-containing blends or stretch fabrics, including some cotton-spandex constructions. Suitability depends on the blend ratio, fabric finish, stretch behaviour and intended use. A sample on the supplied material is the practical way to establish the result.
Reactive printing is more limited: it is appropriate for cellulosic content, but synthetic components do not take reactive dye in the same way. For mixed-fibre fabrics, discuss the composition and required appearance before selecting the route.

Match construction to the service format
Roll-to-roll pigment AOP accepts woven minimums from 5 metres and knit minimums from 3 kg per design. Reactive AOP minimums are 10 metres for woven and 5 kg for knit per design. Actual suitability still depends on the submitted fabric.
Hybrid screen-digital printing is a placement service for cut panels and garments, with an available minimum of 100 pieces per design. It combines digital artwork with a selected screen effect; not every effect or base fabric is suitable for every brief.

Submit a swatch and a complete specification
When asking about compatibility, include fibre composition, knit or woven construction, fabric weight if known, finish, intended garment or product, and the proposed print technique. A representative swatch allows the team to discuss the right route and sampling plan.
Macrofast does not claim every fabric can be printed by every process. Final approval should be based on the strike-off made for the specified material and the buyer’s requirements.
